Dr. Naresh S. Purohit, MD

Dr. Naresh S. Purohit, MD

Dr. Purohit has a graduate degree in Medicine from India. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama and has been practicing pediatrics in the Anniston area for over 25 years, including one year of pediatric emergency medicine at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Purohit is also a fellow of the American Pediatrics and is Board Certified. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the International House of JSU, the Board of the Right Place that helps serve the homeless, and has served on the State Pediatrics Board for 6 years. He also supports the United Way, Big Brother, Big Sister Club, the Knox Concert Series, The Right Place, and the CP Center.

Dr. Linda Gordon

Dr. Linda Gordon, MD MPH

Dr. Gordon works at the Anniston location. She received her undergraduate degree from UVa in Charlottesville, Virginia. Her medical degree was earned at the University of Chicago School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Residency training was completed at Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center in New York, New York. Her career includes over 20 years of work as a General Pediatrician and community advocate for children. She enjoys civic service and volunteer work with Rotary International, and community non-profits. As well, she is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics, and is Board Certified.

Dr. Rebecca Thompson, MD

Dr. Rebecca Thompson, MD

Dr. Rebecca Thompson practices at our Grandview location in Birmingham, AL. She received her undergraduate degree from UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. She then received her medical degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Following medical school, Dr. Thompson completed her pediatric residency with USC in Columbia, SC. After residency, she practiced as a general pediatrician in Snellville, Ga, for almost 2 years. She now practices full-time at our Birmingham office. Dr. Thompson chose pediatrics as her specialty because she loves working with children. She understands that a parent must entrust their child’s care to their pediatrician, and she is honored to serve this role. Dr. Thompson enjoys caring for children of all ages. She enjoys seeing children grow through performing regular well checks and helping sick children throughout all types of illnesses

Amy M Matson, CRNP is originally from Rainbow City, Alabama. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She also received her Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree and Masters in Nursing. She has worked with Purohit Pediatric Clinic since 2003. Amy is married to Barry Matson. She has 2 children, 1 son in law and a beautiful grandson. She enjoys traveling, reading and playing with her dogs.

Amanda is originally from Jacksonville, Alabama. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of West Georgia. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to work with children and began her nursing career in UAB’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. During her 8 years there she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is very passionate about breastfeeding and can help any mom meet their goal. As her children got older Amanda decided it was time to further her education and received a Master of Nursing degree from UAB. Amanda is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. During her off time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Cori Broadhead, MSN, PNP-PC

Cori attended the University of Montevallo where she graduated with a degree in Biology with University Honors followed by nursing school at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed the Accelerated Masters in Nursing Pathway and received her Masters in Nursing with focus in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care.

While attending UAB, she worked as an RN at Children’s Hospital on the Renal, Endocrine, GI, and Urology Unit for 2.5 years, as well as training in both pediatric primary care and pediatric urgent care. In her free time, she, her husband, and their dog, Macklin, like to go camping and hiking.

She and her husband, Shane, reside in Hoover, Alabama, with their golden retriever, Fancy. They enjoy Alabama football, staying active, and traveling.

Megan E. Smith, CRNP

Megan E. Smith, CRNP is originally from Trussville, Alabama, and currently works at the Grandview and Anniston offices. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Alabama, then obtained her degrees in nursing from UAB. She is dual board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board in both pediatric primary care and pediatric acute care. Prior to becoming a PNP, she worked as a nurse on the pulmonary care unit at Childrens of Alabama for 3.5 years.

She loves spending time with her husband and three young children, as well as their dog and cat. They also have a lot of family close by whom they spend most weekends with. Megan particularly enjoys following children’s health through well baby/well child checkups as well as treating acute illnesses. She aims to provide a family centered, evidence based approach to care to ensure positive outcomes, and values the importance of lifelong learning. Most importantly, she is grateful for the opportunity to get to know and support you and your family.

Elizabeth Tucker, MSN PNP-PC

Elizabeth Tucker, MSN PNP-PC

Elizabeth Tucker, MSN PNP-PC is originally from Georgia where she attended the University of Georgia and Columbus State University where she studied nursing and Spanish language. Upon graduation she began working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Columbus, Georgia and was a member of the Transport Team. Elizabeth later attended University of Alabama at Birmingham where she obtained her master’s degree in nursing with the specialty of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. While attending UAB, she trained at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pulmonary Clinic and Emergency Department as well as working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a staff nurse.
In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, reading, raising sheep, and spending time with her husband and three children.
